Here’s how Indonesia plans to take on its plastic pollution challenge

As the world’s largest archipelago, Indonesia is gifted with a rich abundance of biodiverse marine ecosystems. At the same time, it has been facing with the problem of plastic waste in cities, waterways, and coastlines. At the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in 2020, Indonesia has come up with an ambitious new plan to tackle plastic pollution. Under this strategy, it determinedly aims to cut marine plastic debris by 70% within the next five years.
